You’ll focus on the backend and infrastructure of our Web stack (JavaScript, TypeScript, GraphQL, SQL, AWS), collaborating closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers. You’ll contribute to the product-development process, developing powerful, scalable APIs. You’ll write well-tested, maintainable code, and help drive the direction of our growing backend architecture and deployment processes.

A little bit about you:

You love making beautiful, and delightful Web experiences.
You’ve been building and deploying Web applications professionally for 5+ years.
You have experience working at a startup.
You are fluent in a programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Go, C, or Java. (Our stack is mostly JavaScript, but we love polyglots.)
You are comfortable writing raw SQL, and understand how ORMs work.
You have experience deploying Web services on AWS.
You have experience with, or a strong interest in learning, tools for deployment (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD (CircleCI, Jenkins), monitoring/alerting (NewRelic, Sentry, Datadog, PagerDuty), and logging (SumoLogic, Splunk).
You are a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you.
You can balance idealism with pragmatism.

Bonus points:

You have experience with open source.
You have experience with event-driven infrastructure tools such as Kinesis, SNS/SQS, or Kafka.
You have experience with networking and VPN/VPC.
You have experience with testing frameworks such as Mocha, Jest, Karma, QUnit, Cypress, or TestCafe.
You have experience with backend frameworks, such as Express, Rails, or Django.
You have experience with frontend build tools such as Lerna, Yarn, or Webpack.

You'll have the opportunity to design the overall growth strategy from the ground up. The right candidate will enjoy experimentation and scaling demand generation programs. This Head of Growth will help us optimize existing paid/organic efforts (e.g. Facebook Ads, Google Ads, SEO) while exploring new inbound/outbound marketing opportunities (e.g. new channels, ABM, influencer marketing, banner/display ads, retargeting).

Responsibilities:

Build, scale, and optimize our existing digital marketing channels (Facebook Ads, Google Ads) and explore new ones (LinkedIn Ads, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, and more)
Regularly test, analyze, and scale experiments to improve key metrics (e.g. CAC, CPA, MQLs, CLV/LTV)
Manage the day-to-day of our performance marketing operations and ads spend
Work closely with our content marketing team to optimize and convert organic traffic into qualified leads
Collaboratively with our internal team (Product, Marketing, Design, Engineering) and external resources (agency and partners) as necessary to drive results across multiple channels
You'll develop and own reporting metrics that will measure the impact of our growth marketing investments and continuously improve

A little bit about you:

You have 5+ years of experience in one of these areas: growth marketing/demand generation/digital marketing/account-based marketing/user acquistion
You have proven experience scaling demand generation programs
Comfortable being in an early startup environment where you'll be expected to lay out the foundation of our growth and demand marketing efforts
You are proficient in at least one of these web content management, measurement, and AdTech tools like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Salesforce, Pardot, etc.
You are highly analytical and have a point of view in your area
You possess the ability to handle uncertainty and ambiguity well
You are comfortable in delivering and receiving regular peer feedback

Bonus points:

You are comfortable with SQL
You are have basic understanding of HTML and CSS
You are comfortable with copywriting
You have experience with Webflow
You have scaled demand generation programs at a B2C2B or SaaS company
